Rgotsko Lake

Rgotsko Lake is located southeast from village Rgotina in the municipality of Zaječar. It is 11 kilometres away from Zaječar. The Lake was created in 1978 when the water started filling the surface sand mine. Today, it covers an area of approximately 20 hectares and its deepest point is a at about 40 meters. Due to presence of quartz sand, water is pretty clear and easily heats up, so Rgotsko lake is one of the cleanest lakes in Europe and the lake with the most optimal water temperature.
